Reclaiming a Christian Identity in 2018

Introduction Jesus and the early church used scripture for the revelation of the purpose and mission of God for the emancipation and reconciliation of the humanity and the entire creation. Their understanding about the scripture and application of it in their context by positioning themselves with definite identity is the topic that we are discussing here. And here we are trying to understand it in the light of our context and its application here and renew ourselves and resolve our hostile and unfriendly atmosphere. Use of scripture by Jesus The integral mission of Jesus can be seen as saving and serving. He was engaged in an itinerant ministry. He met people of different walks of life at different places and at different time: at synagogue or a private house or in an open country side or in a non-Jewish territory in a Sabbatical or non-sabbatical day or night, as a healer or a provider or as a teacher or a prophet or the Messiah or the Son of Man. The Corruption of Tithe

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Tithe is a very important topic among the Christians, for both the religious leaders and the laity. There are some interesting things that I have noticed about it, and would like to share that with you. It is normal for Christians to be taught about tithe on a routine basis as it is a major teaching of the Church. We know how christian leaders elaborate the topic with so many references from different parts of the Bible. And, they conclude that topic with warnings of terrible consequences (അനർത്ഥം) one may face with if refuse to give tithe. Church in 2018

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, There are a few teachings, practices and beliefs that I have noticed among the Christian communities which made my heart burdened. I thought it would be a great experience of learning for me when I take part in discussions with you about it. So, with your permission, I will try to open up my heart to share about a few things today. We hear preachers assuring the members of the church that their situation is gonna change from bad to good.
